![]() Stuff like holographic or even metalens are at least 7-10 years aways from being mass consumer ready (performance and production costs) but VR/AR/XR has still lots of room for improvement hardware wise. I hope Quest Pro (and others following) will deliver on these parts. I would use VR at least 80% more and longer if I had a comfortable headset with good lenses. Most likely cause a) they need very bright displays but (micro) OLED is still not there and b) pancake is significantly more expensive and Sony is aware they can't sell a headset that will cost more than the console itself. Pancake lens headsets are a good step in the right direction but unfortunately PSVR 2 is still not using them. The present headsets are too bulky, uncomfortable, (front)heavy and the fresnel lenses are so tiring for the eyes. That's why I think it's not really the software but the overall VR experience.
